Screening "The Staging Post" nominated for best stand alone cinema documentary, directed by Jolyon Hoff, it tells the story of three refugee/asylum seekers stranded in Indonesia. Meet Muzafar Ali who will recount the story of courage, inspiration and vision. Visitor to UNCHR conferences in Geneva 2019, co-founder and Program Director at Cisarua Learning Centre. The film will be shown at Stirling Place Dunkeld at 7:30pm.
On the weekend of the Dunkeld Cup Races you can pop into Off The Rails Gallery Skene Street Dunkeld and buy something for Christmas. The Dunkeld Art Group are local artists who produce paintings, textiles, jewellery, photography and sculpture. Drop in between 9:30am - 4:00pm and meet the creators of these fine artefacts.
Get ultra excited about the expansion of the trail running scene in Dunkeld. Peaks & Trails is a weekend trail running festival in early August, commencing with a 6km short course challenge to ascend and descend Mt Abrupt, the AGL 50km Trail Ultra, 26km Sturgeon Peak Challenge, 21.5km Trail Run, 11km Trail Run or a 5km Trail Run. Something for every level of fitness and experience and a weekend not to be missed.
The Serra Terror is an endurance event held in the Grampians National Park every June long weekend. Over two days, teams battle the terrain and the elements as they hike, run or scramble the exhilarating course. Both days cover a rough marathon distance, and both days will be spectacular. Endurance teams of four will attempt to complete the course in its entirety, while relay teams of five - eight members can interchange at checkpoints.
The Dunkeld Kindergarten is very excited to announce a more challenging M2M Fun Run in 2015. Drawing on the expertise of local ultramarathon runner, Derek Prentice, this year's event will offer a greater range of challenges for serious trail runners and shorter courses around the picturesque township for families to enjoy.
